Piedras Negras, Coahuila to receive US$250,000 grant for wastewater system improvements

Within the framework of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC) and the North American Development Bank (NADB) held on May 8th in Mexico City, the Board of Directors of the two institutions approved the certification and financing of a wastewater collection rehabilitation project in Piedras Negras, Coahuila.

New water interconnection line starts operations in San Luis, Arizona

San Luis, AZ – Gerardo Sanchez, Mayor of the City of San Luis, and Alex Hinojosa, Deputy Managing Director of the North American Development Bank (NADB), presided over a ceremony to initiate operation of a new water transmission main that interconnects the city’s two water distribution systems. This interconnection will meet the city’s water demand for the next 10 years.

Bidding process initiated for U.S.-Mexico international crossing and bridge project study

San Antonio, Texas – The North American Development Bank (NADB) has launched a competitive bid process to engage a consulting firm to perform a study of existing port of entry projects between Mexico and the United States, as well as those currently in the process of being implemented and those proposed for the future. The study will also include evaluating current financing mechanisms for these projects and identifying new financing options.

Two new wind farms in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to be funded by the North American Development Bank

General Bravo, Nuevo Leon – The North American Development Bank (NADB) announces that it has begun disbursement of two loans totaling US$140 million for the construction of two wind farms, Ventika and Ventika II, with a total nominal capacity of 252 MW, sponsored by Cemex, S.A. de C.V. through its subsidiary TEG Energía, S.A. de C.V., and by Fisterra Energy, S.L.U. a private equity fund owned by the Blackstone Group. The energy produced will supply facilities belonging to FEMSA, DEACERO, Tecnológico de Monterrey and CEMEX.
