UMI: Managing Public Communication in Institutional Decision-making

This seminar looks at how water utilities could improve public communications using a simplified social marketing model that includes analyzing the external environment to identify challenges and opportunities, defining the public objective and developing a strategy and message targeted to different audiences to achieve the desired objective. Examples include how to design a strategy to promote more efficient water use, a model for communicating rate increases to customers and a model for requesting rate increases from local authorities.
