Proposal will develop a pilot project to prevent garbage dumping at an overburdened Tijuana community in Cañón de Los Laureles (Goat Canyon), which connects to the Tijuana River Estuary natural reserve in Imperial Beach. The project will identify waste at its source, host community workshops to raise awareness and train community residents to manage household waste, and implement sorted waste collection services in Colonia Anexa Miramar. Efforts also include communication with local authorities to influence public policy on integrated waste management at the municipal and state levels.
