Background

The Project will generate clean energy that will mainly be consumed in the municipality of Hermosillo. The electricity generated will be equivalent to the annual consumption of 53,159 households. The municipality will benefit from the creation of employment opportunities and additional income generation during the construction and operation of the Project. According to the Sponsor, the Project is expected to generate approximately up to 650 jobs during construction and ten on-site jobs during operation, plus various administravie positions.

Description

The Project consists of the design, construction and operation of a 125-MWAC solar park . 

Objective

The purpose of the Project is to increase the installed capacity of renewable energy which will help reduce future demand on traditional fossil fuel-based energy production and displace the emission of greenhouse gases and other pollutants from power generation using fossil fuels. The Project is expected to generate approximately 369.1 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity in the first year of operation.
