CAP was established by NADBank in 2011 to support critical environmental infrastructure projects for economically distressed communities in the U.S.-Mexico border region. Since program inception, 27 water and solid waste projects have been approved to receive US$10.7 million in CAP funding.
In 2022, NADBank began exploring ways to grow the program and increase its benefits for border communities. Taking into consideration existing environmental infrastructure needs in border communities and the experience deriving from its grant operations, NADBank conducted a thorough review of the program and is now proposing to update the CAP guidelines.
In accordance with NADBank procedures regarding public notices, a draft of the updated CAP guidelines is now available for public comment.
